Dear Stephen,

I recently found out that my employer saw my MySpace site, and I am concerned how it might affect a future promotion.

Any advice?

Anything about you ?on-line? is fair game when it comes to a potential employer?s desire to ?vet? you. If you have stuff in cyber-space, be it Friendster, My Space, Connextion, or even your own blog, don?t think a potential employer might not read it. Just like you should be checking out a perspective employer company on ?Google? and other internet search sites (and that even includes the specific individuals you will be meeting with). So, don?t think they may not be doing the same with you. Think twice before you put pictures on-line and how you describe yourself. So, bloggers and cyber-friend-makers beware in a public place. What may seem like a fun way to meet new friends to you may seem immature or weird to a potential employer.
